It's difficult enough trying to take a great photograph of your dog. Ever tried getting them to stay still for a painting? Impossible. Unless they're asleep. Inspired by my two Chihuahuas, but no means real likenesses, Shadow Dogs have a personality all of their own. They are reluctant dogs captured in watercolour portraits, with a little dramatic lighting thrown in for extra effect. In these portraits of imaginary dogs, I tried to get each of their personalities down in a single expression - the look your dog sometimes has that tells you there's a lot going on in their little heads. The eyes tell you everything, even if they can't use words to express it.
