Black Arts began as watercolour and mixed media paintings which I'd all but thrown out. I don't normally paint in black and white. I love colour. But when my beautiful dog Baby passed away suddenly, I was so upset that I became stuck artistically. It was when I was sorting through stacks of old paintings looking for inspiration that I found them. Baby had inspired some of them. So I scanned them and reimagined a series of black and white digital art. The process helped me grieve and find joy in creating new connections with lost friends.
